Kessler Peak

My friend Kathryn had been wanting to do a spring summit with me. We weren't able to the previous week due to inclement weather...so when I saw this Saturday was decent, we went ahead with our plans. I'd been meaning to get up Kessler for a 2nd time since doing it solo back in 2011. We decided to take a route up a steep couloir to the left to capture the summit ridge rather than go right like I did the last time. This wisdom of this move is...debatable. :) The snow was a strange mix of soft new on top, and nearly rock hard beneath. As such it was a tough climb up the steep. But we made it and were rewarded with a really nice, unique view.
