Petrified Forest National Park

The next leg of this Arizona trip was the actual purpose for the trip, Petrified Forest National Park. It was the closest park I'd never been to, so it was obviously on the radar. I am admittedly not a big petrified wood guy...but this park impressed me. It had some cool history, some really pretty desert scenery (Painted Desert area, some cool badlands), and, not surprisingly, a TON of petrified wood. I'd never seen it in these kinds of concentrations, size, and quality. Petrified Forest NP marks national park number 47 of 59. I guess there a few enough left to start an official countdown. :)
