Cascade Mountain - Upper Pole Couloir

Upper Pole is one of my favorite spring routes as it has high summit bang-for-your-buck. As such I typically do it every year. When coworker Bryan expressed genuine interest, I jumped at the opportunity to take a first-timer up, even though it was going to be only one day after our epic Zion Narrows packraft adventure. To my pleasant surprise, I actually felt quite good the whole way, and we made it up no problems. As a bonus, the gate by Hope Campground was open, which saved us 4 miles of hiking. I got some decent Mavic footage in the couloir and summit. Oh, and the couloir descent was SCARY! (super hard snow)
