Willow / Fortymile Gulches
September 17-18, 2020 - Southern Utah
18.7 mi  /  830 ft
This is a trip I've had on my radar for a long time. Well, the Plan A version of this trip, anyway. We ended up doing the Plan B version due to a freaking impassable WALL of foliage in Willow Gulch before we could get to Lake Powell. The plan was to backpack Willow to Lake Powell, packraft from there to Fiftymile Gulch, and the backpack back out. I was pretty bummed we weren't able to do it as planned, but Plan B turned out pretty awesome, too. Fortymile Gulch is actually very cool, kind of a cross between the Subway and Coyote Gulch. Grand scale, narrow walls, wading, upclimbing waterfalls. Good times.
